Politics of Hatred Brings Success for Democrats and Biden – The Swamp Prevails

With yesterday's inauguration of the Biden/Harris administration, a significant moment in American history unfolded—its true impact on world history remains to be fully understood. However, one thing is certain: dark times have begun for the Christian-conservative camp in the U.S. and the defenders of Western civilization. Tyranny is now upon us.

After four years of fierce propagandist vilification of the 45th President, the "storming" of the Capitol on January 6 provided a fresh opportunity for journalists and commentators to engage in their ongoing Trump denunciations and judgmental excesses.

What began as unrest caused by fringe elements within a peaceful demonstration of tens of thousands of Trump supporters has been elevated to a democratic catastrophe. Donald Trump has been blamed as the sole instigator, despite the fact that he never called for violence, instead encouraging his followers to demonstrate "peacefully and patriotically." The fact that Capitol security forces opened the gates at the precise moment Republican members of Congress and senators were preparing to present evidence of election irregularities and blatant voter fraud is conveniently omitted.

The united left accuses Mr. Trump of inciting a violent coup and claims that the Capitol's occupiers desecrated a landmark of American democracy. What is conveniently overlooked is the fact that many politicians, with strong backing from the power centers of the Deep State, have long turned the Capitol into a den of corruption and moral decay.

Since Trump’s 2016 election victory, a campaign of hatred—wholly incompatible with any legitimate opposition in a fledgling republic—has been waged to oust him from the White House. After Hillary Clinton's defeat, Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, and Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader (until yesterday), as leading figures of the nation's progressive left, spearheaded an almost irrational campaign to destroy Trump. They were supported by the bulk of the corporate media in an unprecedentedly vicious, partisan effort.

Since day one of his presidency, Trump has faced what amounts to an ongoing coup—a "color revolution," a coup d’état carried out without military force.

Representatives and senators from both parties, beholden to oligarchic donors from globalist, revolutionary elites like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg, collaborated to further the globalist agenda against this political outsider. Trump, by strengthening the United States as a nation-state and adopting his "America First" principle, stood in the way of their plans.

Every means possible was—and is—considered legitimate to remove this "troublemaker." Despite his flaws and constant attacks, President Trump proved to be an excellent and influential leader. His accomplishments for the American people were numerous, including:

  • Tax reform benefiting corporations and individuals

  • Dismantling anti-industrial regulations

  • An unprecedented economic recovery with record employment rates for Black Americans, Hispanics, and women (a recovery that was only slowed by the pandemic)

  • Improved trade agreements with Canada, Mexico (USMCA), and China

  • Initiatives toward restructuring and pacifying the Middle East

  • The beginning of ending endless wars and bringing troops home from overseas territories

  • Promoting energy independence, achieving the United States' first true energy self-sufficiency

  • Reviving Christian values and social ethics

Even before he took office, rumors of a supposed collaboration between the Trump campaign and Russia (the RussiaGate scandal) were spread, only to later be proven entirely baseless. Then came the ill-fated impeachment trial over a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, while evidence of former Vice President Biden's abuse of office in Ukraine went unaddressed. Nothing was done when Biden forced the resignation of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating alleged bribes to him and his son, Hunter, from the energy company Burisma, despite Biden bragging about withholding support payments until the prosecutor was fired.

When impeachment failed and Nancy Pelosi's dramatic tearing of Trump’s State of the Union speech before a global audience didn’t achieve its goal, the Democrats found a new weapon in early 2020: the pandemic.

Though the pandemic certainly slowed economic recovery, governors are primarily responsible for managing pandemic response. Yet, Trump was blamed for every COVID-19 death. Democratic state leaders who sent infected patients into nursing homes, leading to tens of thousands of deaths, were hailed as heroes. Once the public saw through the myth, the final card was played: the manipulation of the 2020 presidential election. Despite clear evidence of irregularities and voter fraud—such as Judicial Watch’s finding of 1.8 million more voters than actual voters in 27 states—politicians and courts sided against Trump. Over 74 million of his supporters, who viewed him as an exceptional president due to his success in economic, energy, immigration, and foreign policy, saw him as robbed of re-election and do not recognize Joe Biden as a legitimate president.

For many, the betrayal of Trump and the shameful corruption of politics have reached unbearable levels. The Capitol incident and the absurd accusation that Trump incited an insurrection represent the tragic climax of this betrayal.

Violence only seems to be acceptable when it comes from the right, often tolerated or even applauded by the left. The arson and looting carried out by violent left-wing groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter since the summer of 2020 has cost lives and caused billions in property damage. Left-wing mobs have stormed and occupied state capitols in Wisconsin and Minnesota, yet because these actions do not fit the narrative of cultural Marxists, they are either ignored or downplayed.

But fraudulently voting Trump out of office is not enough for the political left. They are determined to ruin Donald Trump personally and prevent him from ever holding political office again. As the final step in their strategy of total discrediting, they have shamelessly used the Capitol occupation to push through a second impeachment, charging Trump with inciting violent insurrection. This attempt at impeachment—far more absurd than the first—now moves to the Senate, with an uncertain outcome. What is clear, however, is that some Republicans have already stabbed Trump in the back, and a repeat performance cannot be ruled out.

The erasure of Trump’s political legacy coincides with a growing mental dictatorship reminiscent of the totalitarian regimes of both communist and fascist origins. Trump has been denied access to social media and the ability to communicate directly with the public. His supporters have been socially ostracized, and some have faced threats and persecution.

For now, the political left has triumphed at nearly every level. What is most devastating is that their politics of destruction and hatred have been rewarded, while the inertia and spinelessness of the Republican Party, along with most of their representatives, have allowed the left to gain even more ground. The arrogance of these forces will only grow.

The Marxist left's totalitarian machinery, which has been steadily intensifying, is now fully operational. With the Democratic Party controlling the Presidency, Senate, and House of Representatives, Marxist-driven policies are all but assured. I fear that what we are witnessing may soon be compared to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 or the rise of the Khomeini theocracy in Iran in 1979.

American society is deeply divided, and frustration is widespread. The cultural struggle is likely to intensify. The Biden/Harris agenda is poised to bring disaster to the United States, leading to widespread damage across all political fronts—economy, defense, cultural values, immigration, education, and free speech. There is no immediate solution in sight. Before the conservative camp can once again engage in the culture war, it must first overcome the emotions of resignation stemming from defeat and betrayal.

COVID-19 Crisis Lays Bare Wicked Character of the Left

It is an adage of philosophical wisdom that crises and emergencies reveal both the worst and the best in humans. It brings out the finest in the good and the most awful in the bad.

Sadly, in times of a pandemic and a threat to all of humankind, the U.S.'s national political discourse proves this saying to be true. Those of us hoping that the COVID-19 crisis would unite us and help bridge the chasm of hate and destruction that has ever deepened in this country ever since Mr. Trump ran for office go through constant disappointment. The Democrats, the Fake News Media, throngs of prejudiced and mindless pundits, the majority of the ill-educated and deranged Hollywood celebrities (example par excellence Alec Baldwin) keep attacking and instrumentalizing the crisis for some gain in the November presidential elections.

Disparaging and bringing down Trump is still the motto. Nothing has changed. As I have described it in previous blog entries, the destructiveness of the left, their intellectual and moral bankruptcy, even accelerates and reaches ever-increasing hysterical proportions. Yet, the left and their communication outlets don't care. They have already realized and count on it that a significant portion of the public has succumbed to the barrage of disinformation and distortion of recent years and abandoned their moral and rational judgment. Equally consumed by irreconcilable disdain for President Trump and his administration, they accept whatever nonsense Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer and their henchpeople at CNN, NBC, MSNBC, or the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, to name a few, put forward.

Not to be misunderstood. It is legitimate in an open society to engage vigorously in the struggle for political power and to prevail in elections. But only within the boundaries of mutual recognition and a minimum degree of honesty and truthfulness. From the beginning, the Trump-hating liberal crowd did not heed these limits. Very much to the contrary, they used innuendo, distortion, and fabrication of facts, outright lies, and personal attacks to attain their goals. No signs whatsoever that the Democrats and most establishment media – while promoting their ideas – intend to engage in loyal opposition work.

After the unsuccessful and dishonest, painfully stupid, and unlawful impeachment attempt (compare my previous blog https://www.edwinseditorial.com/2020/01/when-breakdown-of-rationality-becomes. html), the COVID crisis is now about to be abused for another illicit effort to bring down President Trump before he reaches the November Elections. In which – unless colossal voter fraud takes place – he will be victorious against the probably weakest candidate the Democrats have had in a long time. The probably most loathsome individual among the Democrats, the vile and mendacious Adam Schiff, who drove the impeachment charade against the President, has already announced via Twitter – supported by Nancy Pelosi on TV – to establish a nonpartisan commission to review the country's coronavirus response. The partisan dishonesty of this man and the bulk of his party is so blatant that such a proposal is positively laughable. Everybody with the smallest amount of fair-mindedness left knows that this pathetic attempt would be nothing but to lay whatever blame – speculative and unsubstantiated as it may be – at the President's doorstep.

On occasion, fortunately, a glimmer of decency emerges. It gives hope when presidential candidate Joe Biden after he accused Mr. Trump of xenophobia and racism about his travel ban on China and Europe, reverses his verdict and now acknowledges that it was the right thing to do. But such cases of honesty are rare. Unfortunately, the distortion of facts (i.e., the timeline of President Trump's response to the pandemic), the emphasis on selective information disapproving of the President and his Coronavirus Task Force (i.e., the misrepresentation of Mr. Trump's support for the off-label use of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychlorochine), and the push to make the crisis to appear much worse than it, in reality, is, dominate the public dialogue.

Aside from bashing the President, the liberal left hampers any steps to support businesses and workers financially, instead of attempting to put ideological, not corona-related pork in the relief bills to promote their socialist agenda. Since a swift return to regular operation and a speedy economic recovery would help Mr. Trump regain the main achievement of his presidency's first three years, the left is bent on not letting that happen. There is no doubt that a health crisis is exploited for political reasons, even at the substantial detriment to the entire nation.

No matter how many infections and deaths, no matter how the crisis will play out, we are in to continue the campaign to take down President Trump. Despite the awfulness of the preceding years, the dumbest and most reprehensible social and political discourse is yet to come.

The United States of America – A Doomed Republic?

The last two and a half years of politics in the United States presented us with the turmoil of hitherto unknown and unprecedented variety in Western democratic republics. The situation has reached a point where the question raised in this essay's title no longer appears far-fetched or inappropriate, as indeed it looks as if the doom of this Republic might be imminent unless something decisive happens reasonably soon.

When has anybody seen the political opposition, in utter disbelief over losing a presidential election, engrossed in a policy of destruction against the winner? When has anybody seen the radical political opponent so vehemently and lopsidedly supported by nearly all societal interaction pillars, including print and electronic media outlets, commentators and pundits, academia and education, political representatives at all government levels? When has anybody ever seen such destructiveness and devastation in the wake of democratic elections in an established Republic?

Here is why: A total corruption of the minds and hearts – in other words, want for proper erudition in civic affairs and moral decency – across vast parts of society. The subtle and yet – in its psychological impact – radical cultural-Marxist subversion of society that has been going on for decades claims stunning success.

In the wake of Donald Trump's victory, whoever expected the usual political business continuation must be disappointed. The regular competition between Democrats and Republicans, the typical antagonism between the political left and right as they operate within the conventional boundaries of mutually shared constitutional and civilizational principles, turned out to be much more. It has turned out to be an existential struggle over our entire Western civilization's future, a battle over essential values and principles for Western societies, quite naturally spearheaded by the West's most potent and influential lead-nation, the United States of America.

This circumstance alone can explain the sheer incomprehensible hatred President Donald Trump faces from significant media outlets and the bulk of the political establishment in Washington D.C. Make no mistake. There is a relentless war going on, not yet waged primarily with lethal weapons, but one in which the Democrat Party and the vast majority of its sympathizers want to bring down this President.

A significant number of so-called never-Trumpers and RINOs in Mr. Trump's party, assisted by a broad spectrum of globalists and economic and military-industrial profiteers, reject this President and his Christian-conservative policies. They are not only bent on beating him politically; they intend to get him out of the office and utterly destroy him and his family personally.

It sure appears to be quite an asymmetric kind of warfare. Trump and a relatively small nucleus of government supporters around the White House are waging this cultural war. A few hardcore conservative fortresses in society (such as Ben Shapiro and his Daily Wire) fight against a colossal overload in ill-will and malevolence that reaches far beyond the usual clientele of the Democrat Party and the political Left.

The gloves began to come off in this 'ad hominem' campaign of destruction about two and a half years ago when Mr. Trump was elected candidate for the presidential race. Since elected and in office, the offensive against him has increased continuously in intensity and wickedness. It has now, at the time of a government shutdown where Democrat leaders apodictically refused to move even one inch toward the fulfillment of Mr. Trump's election promises, reached a new peak.

How could anybody who has a grain of moral decency left who watched the Senate Minority Whip Chuck Schumer making his hateful statements against the incumbent President still support this Democrat Party? How could anybody bolster a political force led by such a disingenuous and utterly loathsome human being!

But the old ploy of reversing cause-effect relations and blaming the political opponent for one's wrongdoing and devilishness is being pulled off quite successfully by the left. They project their disgraceful personality traits and behavior onto President Trump. When he is rightfully fighting back and setting things straight, they accuse him of being the initial aggressor, evildoer, and disparager of the Presidential office.

It is mind-boggling to imagine what some measure of critical, yet 'constructive' and decent cooperation with the President from the part of Trump-opposing forces could have accomplished for the benefit of this nation and the entire world. Alas, instead, the hatred of Mr. Trump appears to trump all considerations for successful governance and the common good of this nation. If only they can bring down Trump, the left, and their henchmen (and –women) in all kinds of societal strata appear willing even to destroy this country.

Is there an immediate solution to the ruinous state of political affairs in this country? The same will of the people who elected Mr. Trump and his policies into office must be the will that now ensures that he can implement them. It is on 'We The People' to become proactive, break up the deadlock in Washington D.C. and lead the country back into a productive and constructive social and political discourse.

New Despotism - The Tyranny of the Mob

A new form of totalitarianism is upon us. It has arrived in the form of ideological despotism, wielded by the aggressive and intolerant leftist mob. It is the bold attempt of the culturally and morally degenerate of our time to implement a kind of 'mental dictatorship.' The plebeians of our day are no longer a class of citizens unable to read and write. They are those ill-educated and ignorant, rationally and/or morally wanting individuals who can potentially come from all strata of society teachers, journalists, and academia, scientists and politicians.

Besides third-wave feminists, Black-Lives Matter activists, and Never-Trumpers, the most prominent representatives of this vast group of misguided people, who combine education with moral deficiencies, are well known. I count many of the Democrats (Reid, Clinton, Pelosi, Schumer, and the like) and Republicans (McCain, Rubio, Graham, to name a few) in Congress and Senate plus the neo-conservative and neo-liberal nomenclature in the State Department to this group. Yet, to be found at the peak of this particular deprivation was the previous holder of the most powerful political office globally, B. Obama.

In recent years, the intellectual-educational and moral-ethical decline in culture and politics became ever more tangible in all society and state segments. In my blog entries, I have criticized the idiocies regarding the destruction of the nation-state by open border policies and the interventionist foreign affairs approach, combined with astonishing neglect of strategic and geopolitical parameters in international relations by the U.S. government and the transatlantic alliance. I also addressed the self-destructive equating of the Muslim religion, the bewilderment over (trans-) gender relation, and the general cultural decline in western societies.

The confusion reached a sad apex in the race for the White House and specifically in the open war waged by the bulk of the mainstream media against the new president and his administration since his inauguration. The level of injustice and sheer destructiveness of the political opposition and most of the press is almost incomprehensible. It has reached a degree indeed unparalleled in Western post-World War II societies and is seriously putting in question the U.S. political system's maturity and proficiency.

What shook up our civilization's societal fabric to such a degree and corrupted the sanity and sound judgment of politicians, educators, communicators of essential parts of the citizenry? I have addressed the reasons in my blog essays over the past few years. I alluded, among others, to the absurdities of the ideological tools such as the exploitation of political correctness, the undifferentiated interpretation of the notion of equality, the anything-goes of value relativism, the socialization of the young generation along the lines of egotism and individual hedonism, the absence of character-building efforts at home and in the places of education and culturization. Finally, I addressed the corruption of the educational culture by depriving it of classical art instruction ingredients. In other words: At the bottom of the dilettantism in politics and political relations in domestic and international affairs lies the utter lack of philosophical depth and wisdom.

The political illiteracy and moral confusion led to the described and criticized follies in domestic (i.e., immigration) and foreign affairs (i.e., support of insurgents and destruction of nation-state structures). Based on their misconceptions regarding the ontology of political and social coexistence (see my blog essay of November 2015 https://www.edwinseditorial.com/2015/11/immigration-us-and-europe-governed-by.html), governing authorities in the U.S. and Europe engaged in unjust interventions in the Middle East, in the Caucasus, in Asia, severely damaged the social fabric of the U.S. and European societies, and widened the domestic ideological divide to the point of irremediableness.

The portrayed intellectual and moral decline became forcibly apparent in the wake of the U.S. presidential elections. Blind individual prejudice and pride, assertiveness, and stubbornness seem to be more important than objectivity, dignity, truth. Personal vanity not to have been wrong seemingly trumps all insight and appears to override all disabusing by experience and learning from actual failure. People and governments maintain their positions of prejudice and ideological bias at all costs. Political discourse appears to have degenerated into nothing more than turf warfare over partisan policy notions and the constant denial of responsibility for failed decisions (shining example in its negativity again B. Obama - Syria, Libya, ACA)

The epitome of the intellectual and moral carnage that has characterized the political rivalry of recent weeks, months, and indeed years is the apparent attempt to delegitimize conservative opposition and virtually destroy the newly elected U.S. president and his administration. Instead of partaking constructively in the political business and contributing to the bonum commune despite contrasting and opposing stances, large parts of society engage in outright destruction and annihilation, including media and representatives of the legislative estate. The decadence has reached an alarming degree.

Short of outright civil war, things could barely get worse. Think about this: The oscillation of governments is natural to democratic republics. Thus, the alteration of governing regimes astounds only the under-educated and ideologically stultified. And probably those few who fantasize about an authoritarian one-party rule in the People's Republic of China style. The apparent attempt to disregard the outcome of the presidential elections and delegitimize President Trump's governance is not just the political left being a sore loser and incapable of accepting the rebuke of their Marxist-utopian globalist ideas by the electorate. In essence, it is a fascistic move on the part of those liberal and progressive elements in society and state who, in their arrogant hubris to govern unimpeded for the foreseeable future, might not even be consciously aware of the baseness of their doings.

As I made clear in my blog essay below on "Truth in Life and Politics," to acknowledge existential verities and show dignity in the face of a legitimate opponent's victory requires proper knowledge and understanding of human relations and necessitates ethical disposition and moral strength. The current state of social and political affairs in the United States of America demonstrates most ostensibly the interconnection between the theoretical and practical judgment, the inescapable bond between knowledge and action, cognition, and morality.

When the intent to see elected officials fail becomes more important than helping them succeed, an existential threat emerges. When, in a democratic political system, partisan dogmatism and party-political arrogance gain the nation's best interest over partisan dogmatism and party-political arrogance, the disconnect between those two intrinsic components of sound practice and meaningful human behavior amplifies.

The victory of Donald Trump has shocked the radical left in this country and united them in their desperation. The plebeians of our day have taken to the streets. Countrywide demonstrations peak in calls to remove Trump from office, with individual exponents even bluntly calling for his assassination. Rather than bringing people to their senses and quelling the riot, pundits and elected representatives stir the hatred and encourage the firebrand.

Over time, the plebeians have managed to turn values and righteousness upside down through their aggressive agitation. They've turned right into wrong, straight into crooked, the upstanding is now considered insincere, and termed the reasonable 'un-American.'

They deprived our societies of their religious foundation and are fervently working on dismantling any possible common denominator that could serve, beyond the pluralism of values and political stances, as a unifying force. (On that destructive aspect, read my blog essay on "The Crisis of Morality" of March 31, 2015, https://www.edwinseditorial.com/2015/03/the-crisis-of-morality.html). The plebeians of our day usurped the editorial offices of mainstream media outlets, they populate the academic quarters on the college campuses, and they became hateful obstructionists on Capitol Hill.

At this juncture, perhaps the most pressing question is whether or not this culture war that is in full swing will escalate into what some commentators have already heralded as the Second American Civil War. We shall find out soon if the left's tyranny will ease up on their mental authoritarianism or drag this nation into a large-scale violent uprising and outright civil war.

Trump's First 100 Days: A Presidency the Media Can't Spin into Failure

After the first hundred days of Donald J. Trump's second term as the 47th President of the United States have passed, the political oppo...
